Improper Longevity Payments – Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria

In a letter to the Everett City Council, IG Shapiro detailed an OIG investigation that found that $180,000 in longevity payments were improperly paid to Mayor Carlo DeMaria. He also called on the City Council to conduct an audit of all payments made to the mayor and recover any other overpayments discovered through the audit.

mandate, the Unit reviewed Cape Cod Gateway Airport’s (Cape Cod) use of certain federal grant funds. This included reviewing grants received under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), the Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program – Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriation Act (CRRSAA), and the Airport Rescue Grant – American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) (collectively referred to as “COVID-19 grant funding”).
