Florida Woman Pleads Guilty to Defrauding Massachusetts Housing Agency

A Florida woman pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston to defrauding a Massachusetts housing agency where she worked in 2022.

Boston, MA — Alihea Jones, 51, of Brandon, Fla., pleaded guilty to five counts of wire fraud. U.S. District Court Judge Patti B. Saris scheduled sentencing for Jan. 16, 2025.

“This scheme diverted state housing assistance funds and federal pandemic relief funds from helping those who truly need it,” Inspector General Jeffrey S. Shapiro said. “I am proud of the work of the investigative team and grateful to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for their work in holding those who defraud these critical safety nets for their personal gain accountable.”
